A picture speaks a thousand words; the images will do the majority of press in this piece, with several choice selections deserving recognition.

One of her choice pieces, Intregracion Cromatica Azul 2011 commanded presence on the wall of David Lawrence Gallery Booth. Oil and resin on wood panel enunciating fervent archilogical and geometric characteristics speaking heavily on an addictive - reductive process collaboratively enhancing each underlying stroke by stripping away layer upon layer to reveal hidden depth and character of each fluid transition in color. The abstract aesthetic with gestural command made the utilization of resin as an enhancer rather than sealer more visual appealing, providing a surreal excape into the world of Western abtractionism.

The evening exhibited interactive and highly elaborate presentations with the groundbreaking reveal for 7, 000 square foot China Pavilion and amalgamated Chinese Puppet show. Three Weeks in January re-creation [prearranged by Leslie Labowitz-Starus and Suzanne Lacy] of the Myths of Rape by Elana Mann and Audrey Chan provided an emotionally heartwrenching entrance to an otherwise valiant variety of modern-day masterpieces. The powerful performance, choreographed in collaboration with Mecca Vazie Andrews, featured 30 participants wearing signs featuring current myths and facts about rape.

Mark Mothersbaugh of DEVO fame, debuted four new pieces, including a resemblematic extension in the fluid silver form of a double fronted Scion.

A literal inch and half thick, David Allen Peters utilizes paint to its foremost advantage - color and its ability to transition from one to the next whilst remaining true to self. Peters captures thematics in each layer as his excavation of setting time in colored seconds binds technique to cut and scrape.

Commanding a strong history in traditional painting and classical training, Speedy Graphito quickly found his passion and rediscovered an affection within the child in all of us to embrace Disney characters once again, spraycan in hand.

Fred Segal came out in full support of LA Art Show, giving complimentary touch-ups, simultaneously promoting their blow-dry bar open in Santa Monica. Collaborating with Pixi Cosmetics and Marco Bollinger Photography a symbolic titled photo shoot was available for guests.

As per standard with innovatory art of 20th century caliber, LA Art Show was heavily shadowed by socially notorious celebs including evening host David Arquette, James Franco, Incubus frontman Brandon Boyd, Dave Grohl of Foo Fighters, and MOBY among numerous collectors and avid art aficionados alike.
